Did You Know??

Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council has been awarded a 0.5% increase in Central Government Funding for the forthcoming tax year, which equates to £32,000 - such 'generosity' when our energy costs alone have increased by £300,000!!
This Government has proudly announced a generous average settlement of 4.2% across the country which at our 0.5% clearly indicates some local councils must have received substantially more than 4.2% - who am I to suggest these councils may be in the north of the country!!
It is totally unreasonable for this Government to expect our local residents to supplement this woeful shortfall in a fair settlement but I am afraid it is indicative of the double standards applied by this Government.

Taddington Valley

It's been a long time coming and I know we are moving towards the lighter evenings, 'no pun intended' but I have just heard that work on upgrading the lighting in the Valley commenced this morning!!
This is a good news item and I am pleased to report that it has been made possible by the joint co-operation of both Aylesford Parish Council and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council.
