You Learn Something Everyday!!

Did you know: -
A white line across a driveway in a restricted parking area means that if a vehicle (any vehicle) was parked on the white lines it would not be subject to any enforcement by a Parking Attendant. This means that if you (the resident) was unable to exit your driveway you would need to report the matter to the police because the offending vehicle would be obstructing you from gaining access to the Queen's Highway. However, if you were trying to gain access to your premises the vehicle would not be deemed to be causing an obstruction and there is nothing you can do about it!

The markings are only introduced to assist on any site where residents have contacted the council and outlined particular difficulties they have, and not introduced as a
matter of course.

Litter Picking

Following a recent Conservative Survey there was a strong response highlighting the concern at the amount of litter/fly tipping in the Chatham & Aylesford Constituency. As you would expect we Conservatives lead by example and yesterday we had Councillors and volunteers in organised groups to react to your concerns. Of course this can only be a token gesture but every little helps!! If any one would like to organise a litter pick in their area Allan & Peter would like to hear from you. They are able to arrange the necessary equipment - pickers, gloves and bags. Children also find it great fun!!
