Spring Clean for Taddington Valley

Last Sunday The Taddington Valley Community Group mobilised a Bash the Trash litter pick and stormed the Woods!! This was an excellent example of local residents showing determination to beat the few inconsiderate people who seem to have a total disregard for this beautiful area. The storm troopers were of all ages - I'm not saying which end of the scale the Councillors were but the picture may give it away.
As part of the TVCG work a leaflet has also gone out to neighbouring Walderslade residents encouraging them to be vigilant and report instances of fly-tipping to the Council. The Council has a reward scheme to tackle fly-tipping, which offers a £100 payment to members of the public who provide information leading to successful prosecution against fly-tippers.Phil Beddoes, Chief Environmental Health Officer for the Borough Council said " Taddington Valley is a beautiful area, which is being continuously mistreated by a few irresponsible people. Through the work of the TVCG, we hope the area will soon be restored to its natural beauty."
Well done to the TVCG organisers and all the helpers, including TMBC staff, who made this a truly successful day.
