Rat Running - Robin Hood Lane (Lower) - Update

A telephone call from PC Dalton yesterday (4th May) confirmed that action will be taken soon!!

Allan has had a response from a Chief Inspector of Kent Police to say he is "on to this one with the local officers and PCSO. A referral to the roads policing officer has also occurred".

Allan and Peter are aware of the concerns of residents and are pleased to report that Kent Highway Services acknowledge that the issue of rat running and improvements to the Lane need to be addressed.
In the Local Transport Plan there is now an item entitled 'Robin Hood Lane Traffic Calming' to address speed problems. The programmed year is financial year 2008/09.
In the meantime Allan and Peter will be encouraging the Police to take temporary measures to action residents concerns.

From my map I think Robin Hood Lane (Lower) is the section from the foot bridge to the intersection with Fostington Way. The section from Walderslade Woods to Robin Hood Lane known as Taddington Wood Lane may also need to come in to the equation!

save tax payers money let the lower road be, there is very little housing on the rat run. The root of the problem is the sliproad from walderslade onto the M2 roundabout. At peak times it blocks the main road in all 3 directions. Would it not be simplier and cheaper to sort it out there?

A good point you make Anonymous. The Highway Agency have a lot to answer for when it comes to planning of the 'gyratory system'! I will make the point to Kent Highway Services.
